The following NAHI Discussion Board (to be referred to as “NDB”) protocols (rules of use), as approved by the NAHI Discussion Board Committee (to be referred to as “NDBC”), will be published and maintained on the NDB. Disregard for the NDB protocols and rules may result in immediate suspension of NDB privileges.
When registering for the NDB, your profile must be completed with the following minimum information:
- Email: the best email address to contact you with
- Username: this must be your full name, first then last (i.e.; John Smith), nicknames are not acceptable
- Password: something you will remember
- First name
- Surname (Last name)
- City
- State
**If these fields are not completed in your profile, your membership to the NDB will be declined.The NDB is a membership privilege (not a right) extended to and limited to NAHI Certified Inspector Members, Inspector Members, Associate Members and Affiliate members who agree to abide by the posted NDB protocols.
The purpose of the NDB is strictly for the education of its participants in the technical aspects of the home inspection profession along with the sharing of personal experiences directly related to inspection issues. The NDB is also utilized for the posting of association related notices. Although some levels of humor, in moderation, may be acceptable, posts of a political or abusive nature and those involving pricing will not be tolerated.
A vendor related section of the NDB will be made available for NAHI Affiliate members to offers goods, services and seminars to users of the NDB. Advertising or promoting of services or products is prohibited unless in the affiliates / vendor’s section.
Opinions expressed on the NDB are those of the authors of the posts and do not necessarily reflect the official position or opinions of NAHI. NAHI assumes no legal responsibility for the opinions of the user’s of the NDB.
A selected committee of volunteer NAHI members and administrative staff members monitors the NDB. The NDBC Chairperson shall be appointed for a one-year term of office by NAHI’s Board of Directors. The NDBC Chairperson shall appoint the NDBC members from the NAHI membership roster and the administrative staff who are willing to serve a one-year term and pledge their personal time and exercise responsible care in maintaining the NDB as an educational venue within the spirit of its creators. The size of the NDBC shall be predicated based on the needs of the NDB
The NDBC Chairperson shall have the means and responsibility to remove anymember's post that does not comply with the approved NDB protocols asdetermined by a majority vote of the NDBC. The Chairperson can temporarily remove a member's post for up to 72-hours if the chairperson or any NDBCmember believes it does not comply with NDB protocol while a poll of the NDBC isobtained. Any NAHI member found in non-compliance of approved NBD protocols shall be warned by the NDBC Chairperson and given the opportunity to either modify or remove their not to modify/remove their non-complying post and/or a second non-complyingpost is posted by the same member, such member shall have their NDB accesssuspended for a period of not less than 30 or more than 90 days by majorityvote of the NDBC. A third non-complying post shall result in an automaticsuspension of NDB access for a period of time of not less that one year. The NDBCChairperson shall maintain records of warnings and suspensions throughouttheir term of office and turn over all such records to the succeeding NDBCChairperson. The incoming NDBC shall enforce any disciplinary action imposed bythe outgoing NDBC.
NAHI does not officially respond to issues raised on-line. If you have an issue, concern or complaint regarding a NAHI Member or NAHI policies, you should discuss them with the NDBC or your local representative on the NAHI Board of Directors. NAHI will not promote this on-line forum to nonmembers, but, aswith any on-line forum, your messages are potentially accessible to the public.
